The Civic Center's aesthetic has always been all tough and noir, but it's about to be dotted with a version of a color referred to as, no joke, Barbie Pink. The Grand Park, opening later this month, is getting benches in a toned down version of Pantone 219C; designer Rios Clementi Hale Studios is aiming to create "a floral quality throughout the year." The park will have 26 freestanding benches, 41 wall-mounted benches, plus 120 cafe tables, 240 cafe chairs, and 40 lounge chairs (and 24 hour security to watch out for them).
