The OC Register reports that the Seal Beach City Council unanimously approved a new subdivision of 32 houses on a 4.5 acre parcel formerly owned by the Department of Water Power at the corner of Marina Drive and First Street (also the river mouth of the San Gabriel River). One councilmember calls the land "the last major oceanfront parcel in the county available for development." As part of the deal, developer Bay City Partners will donate 6.4 acres of open space for a future park. [OCR, image via]
