Where Have the Echo Park Lotuses Gone?

New, 12 comments

Eastsider LA looks into the current whereabouts of the descendants of the lotuses that once occupied Echo Park Lake: the nelumbo nucifera, or the Asian Sacred Lotus, are currently in Reseda under the care of Randy McDonald, who is growing lotuses at his aquatic plant nursery until the lake's $65 million renovation is complete. Meanwhile, the Lotus Festival has been canceled once again. [Eastsider LA, image via/Echo Park Now]
