Less Busted Sidewalks in the Valley

New, 7 comments

The City Council today approved a proposal from Councilmember Richard Alarcon to shift $500,000 from the former Community Redevelopment Agency--recently destroyed by the governor--to fix sidewalks in the northeast Valley, the Daily News reports. Around 430 sidewalk spots will be fixed with the money, which comes from redevelopment funds generated in the city's seventh district. Alarcon said the money is a good investment--the newly-improved sidewalks won't only spruce up neighborhoods, they'll help the city avoid lawsuits. [LADN, image via Streetsblog]
