KOREATOWN: Cassell's Burgers, an old-timey fixture in Ktown, is closing, but just temporarily. The owners of the Hotel Normandie purchased the restaurant and are moving it into the bottom floor of the 1928 hotel. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations to transform it into a 100-room boutique property, so it'll likely be eight months before the new Cassell's opens.
MIRACLE MILE: The former Pentimento cafe at LACMA is becoming C+M Coffee and Milk, another Patina Group concept. Opening in July, C+M will offer Intelligentsia coffee drinks and a treat called organic milk sorbet. There's also booze!
HOLLYWOOD: The hipper-than-thou Cahuenga corridor gets even cooler with the soon-to-come addition of PROJECT gallery+espresso, a hybrid art gallery/coffee joint across the street from Space 15 Twenty. Look for an opening this month.
WEST HOLLYWOOD: Laurel Hardware is a restaurant opening in the old hardware store on Santa Monica Boulevard. The small plates eatery is a bit delayed, with a soft opening planned for early July. Interior touches include white subway tile, with a garden in the back.
