On Friday, the City Council is considering two competing plans to deal with pot shops: one is a "gentle ban" (really just an actual ban); the other would allow up to 100 dispensaries. Under the former, "consumers and their caregivers will be allowed to grow their own marijuana for personal use." Opponents point out that a) that's not so easy, and b) the city would lose out on the tax money it gets from pot shops. [LADN]
