How's this for a classy pedigree: according to its listing, not only was this Brentwood mid-century modern designed by Case Study House architect Rodney Walker, it also "served as the personal residence of A. Quincy Jones." Built in 1947, the 1,215 square foot "maintained and unspoiled" house features two bedrooms, two baths, walls of glass, hardwood floors, slatted-wood ceilings, a fireplace, and attached, two-car garage. Last sold in 2003 for $615,000, it's now asking $1.075 million. If that price sounds pretty reasonable for a property with such provenance, well, there is one catch: the house's unfortunate proximity to the 405.
