Neighborhood-Fancifying Rentals Underway in Bev Grove

New, 40 comments

Would you look at this, something's being built in Beverly Grove (where for years now, the cranespotting has been more or less limited to Cedars-Sinai and Caruso's luxury rental project 8500 Burton). Prolific developers NMS Properties have broken ground on their strip club-adjacent luxury rental project, NMS@La Cienega, previously known as Luxe@375. The project at La Cienega and Westmount Drive was approved way back in 2010--officials said they hoped it could help clean up a slightly seedy block. Killefer Flammang designed the five-story building, which includes 125 one- and two-bedroom apartments, plus about 7,500 square feet of "retail, dining and entertainment options," according to a press release." The project will also have "several roof gardens" and "a three-story horizontal plaster element which floats across the La Cienega facade and peels away to reveal full-height glazing at the corner." Groundfloor units will have 11 foot ceilings and "large folding doors that open to private patios overlooking lushly landscaped walkways"; there will also be "loft-style" units in the back of the project. All the apartments will have balconies, granite counters, and bamboo cabinets. The building will have two levels of underground parking. Opening is set for July 2013.
