Grimy Centinela/Pico Corner Getting Expo-Adjacent Apartments

New, 31 comments

Metro might want to take a bow when West LA's latest mixed-use project comes online: work has started on a 95 unit building at the corner of Centinela and Pico, current site of a Rent-a-Wreck car rental place. Developer ADC Realty Group notes in a release from their equity firm an investor was convinced to throw $11.15 million at the project because it was "comfortable with the return on cost due to the prime West Los Angeles location of the property." They also note a sentence later that "the property is also only three blocks away from the planned LA Metro Expo Line stop at Olympic and Bundy Blvd. This new metro stop is anticipated to be complete within six months of ADC's project completion." The Expo Line station also helped sweeten the deal for the traffic-averse West LA neighborhood council. This project, which looks to be a rental and will include retail, is right across the 10 from another big development: the transformation of the former Grammy headquarters into another mixed-user.
