Former BBC director Jett Loe will get his wish to document the grand homes of historic West Adams as part of Untold LA, an interactive photo book for the iPad and web. The Huffington Post reports that Loe's Kickstarter project recently exceeded its $7,000 goal by more than two grand, allowing him to possibly create an additional print book on the Victorian, Queen Anne, Beaux Arts, Egyptian Revival, Mission, and Craftsman houses that populate the neighborhood. Loe intends to not only showcase the architecture of the area, but also its victory over segregation, which allowed celebrities like Hattie McDaniel, Marvin Gaye, and Ray Charles to settle there.
