Expo Safety Complaints Still Happening

New, 29 comments

Three crossings on the new Expo Line light rail are accidents waiting to happen, USC engineering professor Najmedin Meshkati claims to the LA Times. He appears to consider two of the crossings unsafe only because they're close to a school, the Foshay Learning Center near Western Avenue--his worries there seem overheated, considering the amount of signage and warnings for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. What does appear valid is Meshkati's critique of the Exposition/Rodeo crossing, where eastbound and westbound traffic awkwardly converge in front of the train. [LAT]
