Today's perusal of the List o' Craig brings us a remnant from the very early days of Hollywood--though probably not quite as early as the ad claims. According to Hollywood Historical Survey records (pdf), this Mission Revival residence on De Longpre Avenue was built in 1905 (not 1899, as the posting states) by Arthur R. Kelly, architect of the Playboy Mansion, the Wilshire Country Club, and Hollywood's first luxury hotel, the Christie. Originally a single-family dwelling located on Highland near Hollywood Blvd., it was moved to its present-day site in 1923 to accommodate the neighborhood's growing commercialization, and at some point got converted into a duplex. Now up for grabs is the building's upper unit, which features, per the listing, two bedrooms, one bath, hardwood floors, a private deck, landscaped backyard, laundry on site, and one off-street parking space. Monthly rent for the 900 square foot, pet-friendly unit is $2,200.
