Barbara Bestor's Cantilevered First House in Mt. Washington

New, 41 comments

According to its listing, this house in Mt. Washington is Silver Lake-based architect Barbara Bestor's "first, most dramatic residence. The Panel House was built in 2001 and has a pretty badass cantilever, in addition to three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a deck, a front courtyard, a bonus room on its lower level, and "the most impressive cinematic views of downtown L. A." The listing adds that the lot has room for a pool and "and other creative endeavors," which sounds intriguing. The house last sold in 2004 for $650,000; today it's asking $849,000.
