Out in the desert, state and county agencies have just helped fund an "estimated $80 million parkway proposal [that] would stretch from Desert Hot Springs to Coachella. The paved path would be open to pedestrians, bikes, golf carts and neighborhood electric vehicles." The Whitewater River wash parkway would run 54 miles, from meth labs to hipster pilgrimage sites.
