Santa Monica College's New Space, The Avenue Grand Opening

SANTA MONICA: Santa Monica College has picked up a new building by its Broad Theater at Santa Monica and Tenth St. and plans to convert it into offices for "the management and director of the Broad Stage." HOLLYWOOD: The Avenue, the huge rental building at La Brea and Hollywood, has been renting for a little while now, but it's holding a "Classic LA"-themed grand opening on Thursday, with the help of Los Angeles magazine. According to a release, the mag will be displaying old Los Angeles photos juxtaposed with the same location today, as well as those speculative covers from the year 2061. The all-knowing Chris Nichols will also be there to answer any LA questions. [Curbed Inbox]
