Schindler's Fitzpatrick/Leland Now Just $350/Night on Airbnb

New, 7 comments

The only spec house designed by International/modern master Rudolph Schindler is now on Airbnb, where you can choose between it and a house with a zipline and 14 foot screen over the pool (the insane pool house is cheaper). The MAK Center (which operates out of the Schindler House in West Hollywood) has owned the 1936 Fitzpatrick/Leland House in Laurel Canyon since 2008 and put it up for rent last summer, asking $550 a day or $17,000 a month. At the time, the rental was listed on rarefied Architecture For Sale and open only "to qualified applicants." Now it's hit the more accessible Airbnb (where potential renters are warned they'll have to sign a contract), listed at $350 a night or $2,400 a week. The house includes one or two bedrooms, one and a half bathrooms, a pool, a fireplace, a barbecue, laundry, parking, and Wifi, and the rental also comes with free Schindler House admission.
