Metro CEO Art Leahy on Friday responded to two Beverly Hills-funded studies that posed questions about Metro's initial route plan for the Purple Line extension, which would place a tunnel under Beverly Hills High School and a station in the heart of Century City. In a letter to Beverly Hills mayor William Brien, Leahy wrote that, after reviewing the BH studies, "Metro's consultant reconfirms their conclusion that Santa Monica Blvd. is an unacceptable location for the Century City subway station... the Exponent Report does not alter Metro's findings from last October, that tunneling can be safely accomplished along the Constellation alignment and under Beverly Hills High School and adjacent properties."
