Mid-Century Modern By Jones & Emmons in Beverly Hills

New, 26 comments

Goodness, we're really getting a bumper crop of pedigreed properties on the market these days. This rather lovely specimen in the Hills of Beverly was designed in 1962 by A. Quincy Jones and Frederick Emmons. According to UCLA's A. Quincy Jones collection of papers, the home was commissioned by Harry and Phyllis Sherwood, founding members of LACMA's Contemporary Arts Council. Located on a .78-acre lot midway between Coldwater Canyon Park and Greystone Park, it features five bedrooms, four and a half baths, a sunken living room with eighteen-foot ceilings, walls of glass, two fireplaces, a courtyard with fountain, a pool/spa, and three-car garage. A trust sale, it's listed at $6.499 million; virtual tour can be found here.
