ENCINO/TARZANA: California Landmark, the local developer of projects like Brentwood's the bw, announced today that they've purchased three apartment complexes in the Valley. CL paid "in excess of $15,000,000 for the properties located at 5445 Lindley Avenue (44 units), 5239-5305 Lindley Avenue [pictured] (39 units), and 5168 Yarmouth Avenue (29 units)," according to a statement. The developer says they plan "significant upgrades," as well as new units--they already have entitlements to add 144 more. [Curbed Inbox]

BEVERLY HILLS: Tonight, LACMA hosts the first community open house on the recently-released final environmental impact report for the Purple Line extension to Westwood (the meetings are the last step before Metro votes to move the project to final engineering). A similar community open house will be held Wednesday at Westwood's United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, but Thursday, there will be a meeting on the EIR at Temple Emanuel in Beverly Hills. Considering the subway tunnel fears of several parties in Beverly Hills, that meeting should be a doozy. All events are from 5-7:30 pm. Click here for more info. [Curbed Inbox]
