Get Crunk at Calabasas Starbucks, Umami Concept in Westwood, Little Osaka Resto With 2 Dishes, FIGat7th Food

New, 2 comments

CALABASAS: California's second booze-soaked Starbucks will be on Agoura Road in Calabasas (the first is in Coronado), if the coffee chain's beer and wine permit goes through. Stardrunks will serve "savory snacks," in addition to wine and beer.

WESTWOOD: Umami burger is set to open a small concept, waiter-less restaurant called U-Mini in the old, possibly cursed, Spudnick's space. The odd venue, which requires stairs or a ramp to access, has done in lesser restaurants, but something tells us anything Umami will do bonkers business. Look for an opening in the summer.

LITTLE OSAKA: Miyata Menji is opening in the former Gr/Eats space on Sawtelle. The interesting thing about Menji is that it serves a total of two, yes two, dishes: "tonkotsu ramen with pork broth, teriyaki beef, shallots and fried tomatoes, and tsukemen with steamed noodles, anchovy cabbage, grated cheese (optional), minced pork, vegetable potage, tomato and croutons."

DOWNTOWN: Want a little grub with your Downtown Target? Here's what's coming to the redesigned FIGat7th shopping mall: burger spot Juicy Lucy; Mexican staple Loteria Grill, delicious LAMILL coffee cafe, Korean at Oleego by Park's BBQ, salad joint Choppe Choppe, and traditional Indian at Indus.
