Fat! It's in the air. We knew it. A story on DiscoveryNews introduces a new hypothesis that CO2 in the air is causing us all to gain weight. "Steadily rising levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere may be affecting brain chemistry, increasing appetite and contributing to the obesity epidemic, according to a new hypothesis, which still awaits rigorous testing and inevitable debate." The article goes on to note that despite efforts to increase fruit and vegetable intake in school kids and increase their exercise time, they are still becoming obese. So, the CO2 that's also impacting climate change could also be the missing factor in your inability to shed weight despite the one time you go to the gym each month. [DiscoveryNews]
