Officials held a groundbreaking this morning for the San Pedro Downtown Harbor project, which creates a water cut and town square area just north of the Los Angeles Maritime Museum. This is just one of many big things coming to the Port of LA, including the USS Iowa battleship museum and the Bergamot-developed Crafted marketplace. The water cut project "will be finished in time to host an August 2014 tall ships festival in San Pedro." [DB]
