Updated 3/21: Adorable brokerbabble alert: "Yippe-ki-yay! Happy trails lead to a grand old Hollywood estate and decades long home to America's favorite cowboy, Hop-a-long Cassidy." We assume that means it belonged to actor William Boyd (being born post-1950, we are not that up on our Hopalong facts), but celebrity association aside, the place is still pretty grand, with a courtyard entryway, two-story living room "with Spanish galleon motif," and gardens "that were once the home of an unofficial Hollywood Canteen during the war." The house was built in 1918 and has "four to six" bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and a two-bedroom guesthouse. Asking price is $1.399 million. Update: A tipster has cast the Boyd connection into doubt--there were actually two film actors named William Boyd at the time and the non-Hopalong Cassidy one (referred to as William "Stage" Boyd) lived in several houses in this area.
