Updated 3/13: Event: CELEBRATE, A+D Museum’s annual fundraising gala, brought together design leaders and creative thinkers from around Southern California on Saturday night. The “Celebrate the Wearable” runway show featured wearable creations by Richard Meier, Trina Turk, Karim Rashid, Wolfgang Puck, Neil Denari, Kanner Architects, Marmol Radziner, and dozens of other architects, designers, and artists, followed by a live auction (Meier's white blazer with a surprise lining went for more than $1,000). The evening was emceed by SoCal historian Charles Phoenix and KCRW producer and host of DnA Frances Anderton.
Runway: Hair by Sean James for Fred Segal and Number Four, makeup by Camille Clark for Aim Artists.
In the house: Architects, designers, journalists, artists, and celebrities including Sami Hayek, Carlo Guglielmi, Marco Sabetta, Su Sazama and Fitz, Deborah Sussman, Moby, Eric Corey Freed, David Hertz, Chase Erachi, Mazik Self, Cynthia Kanner, Mehrdad Yazdani, Suzanne Tick, Steven Ehrlich, Cameron McNall, Louise Green, Erla Dogg Ingjaldsdottir, Andre Miripolsky, Rebecca Niederlander, Alex Lamis, Gulla Jonsdotti, and Mark Stahl. ?
Menu: Skewers, beer, wine, fancy sodas, and a very nice honey bourbon.
Dress code: Eccentric artists and designers sprinkled in with gainfully employed hipsters ??
Soundtrack: Nice mix of beats via celebrity DJ Raul Campos of KCRW?. --Audie Chamberlain
