Is Eighth & Hope's Former iHope Tower Coming iBack?

New, 24 comments

The unfortunately named, 22-story iHope mixed-use building planned for Eighth and Hope Downtown could be back alive under a new owner and, ihopefully, a new name. The tower plan was originally developed by CIM Group and set to "connect seamlessly into the multi-phase $247 million South Village project, which includes the historic Gas Company Lofts and (Ralphs) Market Lofts," according to blogger Brigham Yen. Atlanta-based Wood Partners bought the project in 2008. And just a couple months ago, Wood applied for permits to build a 22-story building with 290 apartments, parking on two basement levels and the first through fourth floors, and commercial space on the first floor (these are to supplement permits originally applied for in 2008). The site is currently a parking lot.
