Yesterday the US General Services Administration held a pre-qualifications meeting for architects interested in working on that new federal courthouse slated for a weedy lot at First and Broadway. Architecture firms in attendance included Morphosis, SOM, NBBJ, HMC Architects, ZGF, Ehrlich Architects, Gehry Partners, Michael Maltzan Architects, Rios Clementi Hale, Gruen Associates, Brooks + Scarpa, Perkins+Will, Fentress Architects, and Cannon Design, reports the Architect's Newspaper. More than half of those firms are LA-based, so hopefully we'll see a local building on that prominent spot. [A/N]
