1970s Santa Monica Apartments Get Fresh Look (and Dog Run)

New, 21 comments

Updated 2/19: The same team that's working on humanizing that concrete mixed-use behemoth in Pacific Palisades--9 Mile Investments--has already done a thorough update (see before and afters above) on a formerly-blah 1970s apartment building in Santa Monica. They've just finished work The Arizona at Fourteenth and Arizona. Michael Baker of 9 Mile writes in an email that "It was an untouched 1974 courtyard building that was terribly neglected. We came in and added new windows, new building wrap and siding, new roof, a new gym, courtyard landscaping and sun-deck. There's also a dog-run in the back." The complex has 42 units, including one-bedrooms (starting at $2,200), two-bedrooms (starting at $2,900), and three-bedrooms (starting at $3,500). They all come with patios and a gate dparking space. As for the Pacific Palisades building, Baker says work on that project is just about to get started.
