Fast Company makes an interesting (and un-backed up) claim---that the LAPD's letter warning brokers to cool it with the unmanned drone photography (which "warned that the LAPD's Air Division intends to prosecute violators in the near future") was sent "on behalf of Film LA," the local film permitting body: "Amateur [unmanned aerial vehicle] aficionados have noted that filming via UAV does not require the costs incurred via a conventional film permit."
