Restos Rock Rose, Five Guys on Wilshire, Broadway's UMAMIcatessen, Coffee in SaMo and Arts District

VENICE: The new mixed-use development at Rose and Fifth (pictured) could be getting up to six new restaurants fronting Rose, helping turn the street--maybe, possibly--into the new Abbot Kinney. Check out what's been leased so far.

MIRACLE MILE: Five Guys is now open at the bottom of 5550 Wilshire. The East Coast-burger chain is already in Culver City and planning openings in Westwood and many other LA areas.

DOWNTOWN: UMAMIcatessen, the new nexus of all that is Umami Burger, is almost built out on Broadway. Aside from high ceilings and a 170-seat dining hall, the giant venue boasts five kitchens and a deli/bar.

SANTA MONICA/ARTS DISTRICT: Geez, LA is becoming quite the coffee town. Caffeine is more imperative when you actually work, right Portlanders? (Burn!) Anyway, The Refinery is now open on Santa Monica Blvd. in SaMo at the former EarthBar space, while the hotly-anticipated Handsome Coffee Roasters was scheduled to open this week in the Arts District.
