The loooooong-stalled $140 million phase two of Venice's massive Lincoln Place Apartments redevelopment has been underway for a month now. Once the band of wild cats who held things up in October were moved, developer Aimco started work rehabbing the 45 buildings holding 696 garden apartments, and constructing 99 new market-rate units, along with new community features like a fitness center, swimming pool, and fire pit. And now from Yo! Venice comes word that floor plans and pricing have been announced for those new buildings. There will be one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging in price from $1,999 to $3,599 or more. The project is expected to be completed at the end of 2014. Sixty-five units have already been fixed up for some longtime Lincoln Place residents, who moved back home in the spring, and like all the rehabbed apartments in the development will remain below market rate. Lincoln Place was added to California's register of historic places in December 2011.
