Extra Wedding Capacity on 12/12/12, Free Rides on New Year's

LOS ANGELES: Apparently it is a thing to get married on December 12, 2012? (That's 12/12/12 if you've had a long day.) So much of a thing, in fact, that the LA County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk is making extra room on "the novelty date." Locations in Lancaster, LAX Courthouse, East LA, Willowbrook, Norwalk, and Van Nuys "will offer expanded wedding ceremony services" on Wednesday. [Curbed Inbox, LAX Courthouse chapel via Yelp]

LOS ANGELES: If you're less the marrying kind and more the getting drunk alone on Christmas kind, Metro's got your back--the agency is offering free rides on buses and trains on Christmas and New Year's between 9 pm and 2 am. Metro will also run all night on December 31, but you'll have to pay after 2. The system will run on a Sunday schedule on Christmas and New Year's Day. [Patch]
