Jack Nicholson is selling off his bad news land on Mulholland Drive--he's owned the property approximately forever: since 1975, when he bought it for $49,000, according to TMZ. The site did once have a house on it; Nicholson was renting it out when it burned down in September 2011. This property has a horribly notorious history, all fires aside: it's where director Roman Polanski allegedly drugged and raped a 13 year old girl in 1977 (Polanski pleaded down the charges, but fled to Europe before he could be sentenced; he's lived abroad ever since). Nicholson was out of the country and his then-girlfriend Anjelica Huston, who also lived at the house, was out. So if you don't believe in bad vibes, the land is asking $595,000.
