Some coastal homeowners are furiously plotting and scheming to shore up their beaches with extra sand, and some just got lucky--over the course of the fall, San Clemente received an unusually huge "influx of sand delivered by natural forces" and it's that off-shore good stuff too: "fluffy, clean and free of the pebbles that have become rife on San Clemente's beaches during the last decade as the shoreline turned more and more into cobble." Now they just have to figure out how to keep it (mostly bulldozing). [OCR, image via]
