Stop Fighting the Expo Line

New, 11 comments

A group of Westside homeowners trying to shut down work on the Expo Line light rail extension to Santa Monica had their chance to raise objections and now it's time to give up the ghost, writes the LA Times's Jim Newton. The people building the train line have listened to neighborhood concerns (bridges are being built at many intersections to help keep traffic unsnarled), the route was sensibly chosen along an existing right-of-way, and the line is desperately needed, Newton says: "Sometimes neighborhoods must accept inconveniences that serve a larger good. This is one of those times." [LA Times]
