Hyperion Public Opening, Fast Umami in Westwood, Harvest Moon in NoHo, Last Days for Gay Ice Cream Truck

SILVER LAKE: Eater has pics of Hyperion Public, the neighborhood kitchen replacing The Other Side/Flying Leap Cafe. It's still only open for the chosen but the public can get in on Saturday to try the regional American comfort food.

WESTWOOD: Eater also snuck into the under-construction U-Mini, the first casual outpost of Umami Burger. At the oddly-designed space (up a few stairs and kind of hidden from Westwood Boulevard), UCLA students and office workers can pick up one of the famous Umami burgers without pesky waiters to tip.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD: Continuing with the American food theme, Harvest Moon Kitchen & Marketplace soft-opened a few days ago on Magnolia. Soups, salads, eggs, and Groundwork coffee is now available for NoHo to enjoy.

LOS ANGELES: The NYC sensation known as the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck is in our fair city until Saturday--thank God for the weather turning warm again. Check their Twitter feed to follow them around the city.
