The Silver Lake Reservoir + Meadow Park- PlaceMaking in Los Angeles, One Space at a Time from michelle frier on Vimeo.

SILVER LAKE: Hey, have you heard about the Silver Lake Meadow and just-completed Silver Lake Reservoir path? They've provided better access to the long-fenced-off reservoir and generally made the area more pedestrian- and people-friendly. Project master planner Mia Lehrer + Associates and Council Districts 4 and 13 have produced this very Silver Lake commercial for the Meadow and path, complete with young moms, too-cool hipsters, a football-toting Councilmember Tom LaBonge, and a poetic Councilmember Eric Garcetti. FANCY 'HOODS: That briskness in the air can only mean it's fall home tour time--the AIA/LA is opening four houses in "exclusive zip codes" this Sunday, one in Brentwood, one in Pacific Palisades, one off Sunset, and one in the Bird Streets: "the Four Exclusive Zipcodes tour will feature two modern projects restored by contemporary architects - one of them is a Neutra! - and two newly built residences that display how modernism influences contemporary design." The houses are by Richard Berliner, Escher GuneWardena, Peter Grueneisen, and Barton Phelps. [Curbed Inbox]
