Mural Support

The city's efforts to legalize murals finally jerked forward again last week; the City Planning Commission signed off on the Planning Department's ordinance, "which would allow murals to be legally produced on private property." The ordinance has been moving forward only haltingly; a draft was released this past June. KCET says that there's still some debate over "provisions allowing owners or managers of residences with less than two units to commission works, or recognizing new methods such as works digitally produced, rather than painted."
