Beverly Hills Unified School District may hate Measure J, the ballot initiative that would extend the Measure R transportation tax for at least 30 years and help speed up transit and freeway projects, but the local media is eating it up. The LA Times and the Daily News both published editorials in their Sunday papers yesterday urging voters to endorse J. The Times says, "Light-rail lines are expected to last at least 100 years; future generations will still be driving the highways and riding the rails being built now, and there's no reason they shouldn't be asked to pay their share of the cost."
