First, let's get the ugliness out of the way -- yes, the staging and photoshopped fires are atrocious. Other than that, the house is gorgeous. Per Curbed friend and former weekend open house/Houses of Hancock Park lover Woody, the house is/was owned by Mean Girls writer and 500 Days of Summer producer Mark Waters. That guy can do no wrong, so let's give him a hand for also owning this house. Built in 1927, we jumped into the 1940s census to see if anybody famous owned it at the time. Sadly the only name we could find as owner was one Grace R. Ridgway, age 55. No husband was mentioned, however neighboring homes were owned by lawyers, so perhaps the late-Mr. Ridgway was a lawyer.
