Well, there! The Beverly Hills School District voted Tuesday to formally oppose Measure J, the ballot initiative that, if passed, would extend the Measure R transportation tax and allow freeway and transit projects, including their worst nightmare, the Purple Line subway extension, to be greatly accelerated. The symbolic move passed the school board with a 5-0 vote, even though two board members previously stated it was inappropriate for a school district to take a stand on ballot measures. [BH Patch]
