Oddly, this is actually the second Brentwood house designed by not-very-well-known-at-all architect Hap Gilman to have hit the market in the past week or so. The two could not be more different--here's a classic mid-century modern built in 1960 and the other's a Hacienda-style built in 1938. (According to Aaroe Architectural, which has neither of these listings, "In his early years, he worked mainly in the popular Spanish Revival and Monterey Colonial styles in Brentwood, Mandeville Canyon, Sullivan Canyon, and Malibu ? In the 50's Gilman transitioned to adopt the principles of Mid-Century Modern design." So there you go.) This house sits on nearly an acre and comes with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, movable wall dividers in the public spaces, a pool, a pool house, and a studio/workshop. Asking price is $2.995 million.
