And the Historic Core has become the first ever two-time winner of the Curbed Cup as it becomes 2011's LA Neighborhood of the Year. While its 2007 win was based largely on real estate, this year's victory is all about planning and urbanity--in 2011, the Downtown neighborhood got bikeified, got a farmers market, and saw ground break on its first real park. The neighborhood just barely defeated challenger and fellow pedestrian-friendly zone Pasadena in the tournament's final round. Congrats, HC!
