If you've passed through Echo Park recently, you've likely noticed the former Sleep E-Z store on Sunset near Alvarado is still boarded up and ugly. The plywood barricades are thankfully coming down soon--PETA, the new occupants, are now ensconced in the renovated space and the construction crew is close to finishing work on the sidewalk, Eastsider LA reports. The new offices--which Bob Barker donated $2.5 million for--feature "dark floors and patches of exposed brick wall," with "a nearly all-white interior." Sounds more pleasant than that billboard they've put up top. [The Eastsider LA]
