Glendale's Golden Key Hotel is not quietly waiting out its last days as it heads toward demolition; it's kicking ass, firefighter style. The hotel closed on December 31 and will eventually be demolished to make room for the Americana at Brand's Nordstrom expansion. But in the meantime, the Glendale fire department asked if it could use the empty building for training--"From performing a fire attack to providing roof ventilation." The Glendale police's Special Weapons and Tactics team is getting in on the action too. [GNP]
