Over at The Atlantic Cities, urbanist Richard Florida looks at which cities produce the musical talent chosen to perform at Coachella. LA does quite well at nurturing talent, coming in second after London in number of acts at Coachella 2012--23 call LA home, or 16 percent of the total acts (although we're not sure if Snoop Dogg counted for LA or repped the LBC). Looking at it population-wise, specifically the rate of acts per million residents, LA still holds up pretty well, coming in fourth after Stockholm, Austin, and London. Oh, and a UCLA urban planning grad student crunched the numbers. [The Atlantic, image via]
