Arrested Redevelopment: Even Complicateder

New, 2 comments

LA state Senator Alex Padilla has introduced legislation to push the redevelopment agency death date back from February 1 to April 15, but the California Planning & Development Report reports that "A recent report broadcast by the [California Redevelopment Association] indicates that [that bill] will not move forward unless it addresses a host of logistical problems that have been identified in" the original bill that killed the agencies. Concerns includes design contract obligations for projects that will never be built, the "disposal of assets that are funded by tax-exempt bonds," 120 day termination notice requirements, and lots of other wonkery.
