Most cities love luxury car dealerships--tax revenue, cha-ching!--but most cities are not Beverly Hills. The council last week gave final approval for a $20 million expansion of Jim Falk Lexus on Wilshire--but with a long list of caveats. According to the Beverly Hills Patch, the city is requiring that Jim Falk pay for a new traffic light, fund a study on adding bollards, post an employee to direct exiting traffic for six months, and deposit $50K into an "enforcement fund from which the city can withdraw fines if the dealership violates permit conditions." The city is also reserving the right to make the dealership install cameras to make sure they're holding up their end of the deal. [BH Patch]
