Will the dogs of Downtown be getting a new place to frolic? Blogdowntown reports that the Parks Commission has voted to move forward with a proposal to buy a 0.18-acre property at 1130 S. Hope, where the city and neighborhood stakeholders have been trying to put a badly-needed park since 2005. The city has set aside $2 million in Quimby funds (from developers) for the acquisition, design, and build-out of the property, current home to the abandoned FRA Apartments. The Parks Commission will need to approve the purchase one more time after a final agreement is drafted. [blogdowntown, image via]
