Silver Lake is a little embarrassed about the "No Cruising [for gay sex]" signs that went up in 1997 on Griffith Park Blvd. and Hyperion Ave.--in the neighborhood's pre-pretending-it-doesn't-want-a-Whole-Foods days. The signs are no longer necessary, so last night the SL Neighborhood Council board "voted unanimously in favor of removing the signs," reports the Eastsider, with one person at the meeting literally calling the signs "an embarrassment." After the vote, attendees debated what to do with the signs once they're down--they could show up on eBay. [Eastsider LA, image via]
