Check Out the Dark Knight Downtown Car Pileup and Snowstorm

The Dark Knight Rises spent the weekend filming fireballs, massive car pileups, and snowstorms around Downtown. Christopher Nolan's Batman reboot series is known for reinventing Gotham City in every film--in Batman Begins it was New Yorkish, in The Dark Knight it was was Chicago-ish. DKR is being filmed partially in IMAX and has already shot in Pittsburgh, Glasgow, and Jodhpur, India. Here are Gotham PD cars and others piled up in the Third Street tunnel; down below, check out the (very dramatically-scored) snow at Fourth and Flower and the aftermath of a car explosion. According to blogdowntown, the production will be shooting under the Sixth Street Viaduct starting on Thursday--that work will include yet another fireball and a "platform on riverbed to bridge footing that resembles ice."
